First of all, both high-end devices are Android 2.2 mobile phones, allowing you to enjoy using various widgets, features and apps. You will also have access to the Android Market, so you will easily be able to download other useful apps. In addition, both devices come with powerful processors of 1GHz, but the Atrix is equipped with a dual core 1GHz Tegra processor while the Inspire is powered by a single core 1GHz Snapdragon processor. Regarding the storage areas available on these high end devices you should know that the Inspire offers 4GB of onboard storage while the Atrix comes with 16GB of storage.

In terms of design, the Inspire 4G and the Motorola Atrix 4G look amazing and are made of quality materials that feel pretty good in your hand. The Atrix 4G measures 117.8 x 63.5 x 11mm and weighs 135 grams. The Inspire 4G is bigger and heavier than the Atrix, measuring 122.9 x 68.1 x 11.7mm and weighing 163.9 grams. When it comes to their displays, I must mention that both smartphones feature big touchscreens with good resolution. The Inspire 4G impresses with its 4.3-inch S-LCD touchscreen with a 480 x 800 pixel resolution, Gorilla Glass, accelerometer, compass and proximity sensor. On the other hand, the Motorola Atrix 4G features a 4-inch TFT touchscreen with a resolution of 540 x 960 pixels, the same Gorilla Glass, proximity sensor, compass and accelerometer. Both screens offer amazing images with accurate details and vibrant colors.

I can’t forget about the cameras available on these smartphones. The Atrix is equipped with two amazing cameras: a VGA front-facing camera designed for video calls and a 5MP camera with 720p HD video recording capabilities and advanced camera settings. The Inspire comes with an 8MP camera with dual-LED, advanced camera settings and 720p HD video recording abilities, but it doesn’t have a secondary camera.

So which one would you choose? I’d go for the Motorola, much more history behind that company, though I have to admit I like the HTC more. Looks more… geeky!

How pocketable is such a device?
